Avalon Ultra can be used with or without a hoop. Avalon Ultra is very stable and can handle heavy embroidery without tearing. Suitable for all projects requiring greater stability.


Suitable for:

• Large embroidery without a frame
• Complex freehand or computer embroidery. Cutwork embroidery.
• Ideal as an upper support in the embroidery technique with multiple coloured threads (sandwich technique).

Instructions for use of AVALON ULTRA:

Use AVALON ULTRA for projects that require greater stability. AVALON ULTRA can be embroidered with or without a hoop, making it particularly suitable for large or small embroidery designs that, due to their size, do not fit in an embroidery hoop.

Machine embroidery without a hoop : Cut AVALON ULTRA from the roll to the desired length. Secure the film and embroider as desired without a hoop. When embroidering, make sure the stitches are joined together so that the embroidery doesn't fade after washing the film. After embroidering, cut off the excess AVALON ULTRA. Then dissolve the remaining film in warm water.

Lace embroidery : Fix AVALON ULTRA (without fabric) in the embroidery hoop or embroider without a hoop, then embroider a lace pattern of your choice on the film.

Tip : You can also apply finished lace in this way, in addition to other shapes and colors. To do this, carefully secure the pieces to AVALON ULTRA beforehand with a temporary adhesive spray (MADEIRA MSA 1100). After embroidering, cut off the excess AVALON ULTRA near the edges and rinse off the remaining film.

Fabric/thread/fiber collage : Place small pieces of fabric and/or various thread scraps between two layers of AVALON ULTRA. Tip: Carefully spray the bottom layer of AVALON ULTRA with a temporary adhesive spray to glue the layers together and prevent the fabric/thread/fiber scraps from shifting. Secure the layers with additional pins if necessary. Then embroider the pieces with a braid of threads as described above. Dissolve the remaining film in warm water.

Important : Always store AVALON ULTRA in its tightly closed protective case. This will protect your film from dirt, moisture, and heat.
